Description
‘Jama’ means robe ‘war’ means chest. Before Independence, ‘Kaani’ Technique was used to make Jamawaar Shawls which used to take long but later during mid 20th Century Jaquard technique on handloom was used to make these shawls. This shawl belongs to Sikh regime, as the central black motif of silk is attached to embroidered portion after weaving the complete shawl, which is peculiar of Sikh regime. Silk tassels are attached with knots at both ends. Designs are pagely. Overall condition is good. There are few holes of insect attack.
